Three modes
Mirror and Photo are free. Video is part of the optional Halora Pro upgrade.
A live, ring-lit mirror. After a few seconds the controls fade out on their own, leaving your face and the light. Tap anywhere to bring them back. For makeup, an outfit check, or fixing your hair before a video call. Nothing is saved, nothing is uploaded.
Selfie capture with the ring light fully under your control. You can save five photos a day for free with a small Halora watermark in the bottom right corner, and the count starts again every day at midnight. Copies stay in the app gallery, and you can also save them to your Photos library.
Record clips of up to 60 seconds with the screen lighting your face. You can adjust the light while recording. With sound when you allow the microphone, and in 1080p where the camera supports it.
Why it feels instant
Halora is built to be open and lighting your face before a normal camera app has finished loading.
Add Halora once and good light is one tap from any screen. The Control Center button needs iOS 18 or later.
One tap on the Lock Screen and, after Face ID or your passcode, you are in the camera with the ring light already on. No hunting for the icon.

After the first launch, Halora opens straight into the camera with the ring light already on. No menu to get through first.

Privacy
Halora is built by one independent developer. There is no ad network, no analytics SDK and no data business behind it.
You can use the whole app without an account. Settings > Account offers optional Sign in with Apple to link your Halora Pro unlock to an account so it can follow you to another device. Your settings stay on this device, and you can delete your account in the app.
Camera frames are processed on-device. The app keeps copies of your latest 50 captures in its own gallery; you can delete them there or save them to your Photos library. Nothing is uploaded to us.
No analytics, attribution or advertising SDKs in the app, and no in-app ads. Halora doesn’t track you across other apps, so there is no tracking prompt.

Yes, that is what it is made for. In a dark room the screen is the light on your face, so hold the phone at arm’s length or closer and turn the brightness up. Beyond about a metre the light falls off quickly, so it lights your face, not the whole room.
Yes, when you allow Halora to use the microphone. If you decline, clips are recorded without sound. Video mode is part of Halora Pro and records clips of up to 60 seconds.
No. The entire app works without an account. You can optionally sign in with Apple in Settings > Account to link your Pro unlock so it can follow you to another device. Settings stay on this device, and you can delete the account in the app.
