Terms of Service
Effective date: 17 May 2026
Last updated: 1 November 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Halora iOS application ("the App", "Halora"). The App is provided by:
Lennox Kornmann

Email: halorasupport@gmail.com
Web: https://halora-app.pages.dev
Please read these Terms carefully before using the App. By downloading, installing, or using Halora, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using Halora, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and our Privacy Policy (https://halora-app.pages.dev/privacy). These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Lennox Kornmann.
If you are using the App on behalf of an organisation, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. App Description
Halora is a native iOS selfie-camera application that turns the iPhone display into a ring light. The App offers three primary modes:
- Photo: capture still images with on-screen ring-light illumination
- Video: record video with ring-light illumination
- Mirror: use the screen as a lighted mirror
The App also supports Lock Screen widgets, a Control Center button (iOS 18 or later) and the Action Button on iPhones that have one, for one-tap access. Photos and videos created with the App are saved to your local iOS Photos library, with your permission.
3. License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Lennox Kornmann grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download and use Halora on any iOS device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.
This license is granted under the Apple App Store Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Standard EULA"), which is available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ and which is incorporated by reference. To the extent that any provision in these Terms conflicts with the Standard EULA, these Terms shall prevail, except where the Standard EULA is more protective of you.
You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except as expressly permitted by applicable law
- Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, or otherwise transfer the App to any third party
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices in the App
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates these Terms
4. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Complying with all applicable laws, including data protection, copyright, image rights, and recording-consent laws in your jurisdiction
- Ensuring you have the necessary consent from any person you photograph or record using the App
- The security of your device, your Apple Account credentials, and any media you create with the App
- All activities that occur under your use of the App
You agree not to use the App to:
- Photograph or record any person without their consent, where such consent is legally required
- Capture, possess, or distribute illegal content
- Harass, threaten, or harm any other person
- Infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
5. Purchase Terms (Halora Pro)
5.1 Free use and Halora Pro
Halora is free to download. Mirror mode is free without a time limit. Photo mode lets you save five photos a day for free. Photos taken in the free version carry a small Halora watermark in the bottom right corner.
On iOS, Halora Pro is available as a subscription or as a Lifetime one-time purchase. Which subscriptions, billing periods, offers and prices apply to you depends on factors such as your country, the App version and whether you have already used an introductory offer. The purchase screen in the App and the App Store show them before you confirm. Halora Pro removes the daily photo limit, saves new photos without the watermark and unlocks Video mode. Photos taken earlier keep the watermark.
On Android, Halora Pro is currently available only as a one-time purchase through Google Play. Subscriptions are planned for a later Android update. The Google Play purchase screen shows the applicable price.
5.2 Subscriptions, introductory offers and free trials on iOS
Each subscription runs for the billing period shown on the purchase screen and in Apple's purchase confirmation and renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. This also applies to a subscription that the purchase screen of your App version no longer offers. For purchases without a free trial, your Apple Account is charged when you confirm the purchase; for a switch between subscriptions, see below. The renewal charge is made within 24 hours before the current period ends.
A subscription may start with an introductory offer for new customers, such as a free trial or a reduced price for the first period or periods. Before you buy, the purchase screen in the App and Apple's purchase confirmation show which offer applies, how long it lasts and the price that applies afterwards. If you cancel a subscription purchase, the App may show you a different introductory offer once. You can use an introductory offer for Halora Pro only once. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the offer ends, the subscription renews at the regular price.
You can switch between subscriptions in your Apple Account settings and, in newer versions of the App, with Change plan in the App. Apple processes the switch: depending on the subscription, the new plan starts and is charged immediately, or it starts at the next renewal. In the second case your current plan, including a free trial, continues until then. A switch does not come with a new introductory offer.
You can cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings under Subscriptions. In the App, Manage subscription in Settings takes you there. If you cancel there, the subscription runs until the end of the current period. In Germany and some other countries, Apple's terms also provide for cancellation with immediate effect through Apple Support, see https://support.apple.com/en-us/108098. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
5.3 Lifetime, running subscriptions and restoring purchases
Lifetime is a one-time, non-consumable purchase with no automatic renewal. On iOS, use Restore purchases in the App to restore an eligible purchase or active subscription with the same Apple Account. On Android, the one-time purchase is linked to your Google Play account and can be restored through Google Play.
Lifetime does not end a running subscription. This also applies to a free trial that is already running. Apple keeps renewing the subscription, and a free trial turns into a paid subscription, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancel it in your Apple Account settings under Subscriptions or in the App with Manage subscription. In Germany and some other countries, Apple's terms also provide for cancellation with immediate effect through Apple Support, see Section 5.2. Cancelling ends only the subscription; Lifetime stays unlocked. You can request a refund from Apple, see Section 5.4.
5.4 Billing and refunds
Apple processes iOS payments through In-App Purchase. Lennox Kornmann never receives or stores your payment details. Apple and RevenueCat synchronise the purchase and subscription status to manage your Halora Pro entitlement (see Privacy Policy Section 5). Google Play processes Android payments.
Apple handles refund requests for iOS purchases at https://reportaproblem.apple.com/. Apple explains how at https://support.apple.com/en-us/118223. For Android purchases, contact Google Play. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
5.5 Price changes and availability
Prices may change. The purchase screen in the App and Apple's purchase confirmation show the price before you buy; Apple handles notice and consent for subscription price changes where required. We aim to keep Halora Pro features available while the App remains offered and technically supported. Features may change as the operating systems evolve; see Section 8.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Our intellectual property
The App, including its source code, design, graphics, text, logos, and the Halora name, is owned by Lennox Kornmann or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license granted in Section 3, no rights are transferred to you.
6.2 Your content
You retain all rights to the photos and videos you create using the App. The App does not upload your media. It processes photos and videos only on your device: it crops and mirrors them, adds the Halora watermark to photos taken without Halora Pro, keeps copies of your latest 50 captures in its own gallery on your device, where you can delete them, and saves them to your Photos library if you allow it. We claim no ownership of, and no licence to, your content.
7. Third-Party Services and Apple
The App uses certain third-party services. See our Privacy Policy at https://halora-app.pages.dev/privacy for details.
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Lennox Kornmann, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. However, Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you.
8. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING (BUT NOT LIMITED TO) WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
We do not warrant that the App will meet your specific requirements, that any defects will be corrected, or that the App will be compatible with every iPhone model or iOS version.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits any warranty or liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable mandatory law (in particular under German consumer-protection law and §§ 327 ff. BGB for digital products supplied to consumers).
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lennox Kornmann shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
(a) your use of or inability to use the App;
(b) any unauthorised access to or use of our systems or data;
(c) any conduct or content of any third party;
(d) any content obtained from the App; or
(e) loss or damage to media stored on your device.
For users in Germany and the EU, the following applies in addition: We are liable without limitation for damages arising from injury to life, body, or health, for damages caused by intent or gross negligence, and under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz). For damages caused by simple negligence, we are only liable for the breach of a material contractual duty (Kardinalpflicht), in which case liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Cancel an iOS subscription in your Apple Account settings as described in Section 5.2. Refunds are handled as described in Section 5.4.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, the license granted in Section 3 ends and you must cease all use of the App.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 6, 8, 9, 11) shall survive.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
11.1 Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
Where you are a consumer who habitually resides in the EU/EEA, the choice of law in the previous paragraph does not deprive you of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
11.2 Jurisdiction
If you are a merchant (Kaufmann), a legal entity under public law, or a special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms is Germany (the courts of the operator's local district).
For consumers, the statutory place of jurisdiction applies.
11.3 Consumer dispute resolution
We are not obliged and not willing to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer-arbitration board (Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle) within the meaning of § 36 VSBG.
The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025 and is therefore no longer referenced here.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated within the App or by updating the document at https://halora-app.pages.dev/terms with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes acceptance.
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the App.
13. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary; the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lennox Kornmann regarding the App and supersede any prior agreements.
